Since releasing Jordy's Fitness 5 Day Detox I have received a heap of questions all about how to stay focused and motivated to complete the program. So although my 5 Day Detox is really quick, simple to follow and easily achievable - there are still some things that you can do which might make it easier. This is somewhat similar to the article I wrote a couple of months ago about how I stay motivated to workout so take a look at that if you are wondering about exercise motivation.
♥ Don't let detoxing get in the way of your social life by still allowing yourself to eat out. Just simply call the restaurant or cafe beforehand or these days most places have an online menu that you can look at and see if they have anything that fits into your detox on offer. Usually they will have a healthy vegetable dish, soup or salad but if they don't then you can always ask for simple things like that and they will most probably be able to do it.
♥ If you get a sweet tooth attack and can barely stop yourself from running into the cupboard for a sugar fix, make sure you have some dates on hand. They naturally have a super sweet toffee flavour and will definitely satisfy any chocolate or sweets cravings.
♥ If you are absolutely dying for a salt fix, stop yourself from turning to potato chips and instead have healthy but still salty snacks prepared like kale chips, lightly salted nuts or avocado sprinkled with some Himalayan pink sea salt.
♥ Try to push through any mental roadblocks you may find in your path. If you feel like giving up, remember why you started in the first place.
♥ You really shouldn't feel hungry while on my 5 Day Detox but if you happen to find yourself craving foods drink a big glass of water first and if you're still hungry eat fruit or vegetables (any of the 12 snack ideas suggested in the detox)
To keep you on track try to think about this detox as not only a way of feeling better in 5 days but more importantly it's a lifestyle change and can teach you life long eating habits. You will probably find that it isn't too hard for you to follow the lifestyle laid out in the detox and will find it easy to start incorporating these eating habits into your everyday life.
