This is the first of many "meat substitute reviews" that will be going up on Jordy's Fitness because as those of you who follow me on instagram would know, I have recently turned vegetarian. For the past year or so I have only been eating meat a couple of times a month but now that I'm vegetarian, I'm on the hunt for protein substitutes that can replace when I usually ate meat. Since these meat substitutes don't come with all of the health repercussions that actual meat does, I might even end up eating them on a regular basis. I grew up on vegetarian because of my mum and when I moved out of home I remained vego since my boyfriend also doesn't eat meat, I'm already a lover of all a heap of vegetarian foods like tofu, not burgers, fake bacon and other schnitzel things. So I'm not exactly new to this but am definitely on more of a search for new things to try now. Keep reading to hear what I thought about the Quorn Cheese and Spinach Schnitzels.
Taste:
These things taste AMAZING! They straight up taste and even look like chicken, if someone gave me a chicken schnitzel and the Quorn schnitzel but didn't tell me which was which, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. They taste even better than a usual schnitzel because of the cheese and spinach layer which tastes delicious.
Serving:
I served mine with a basic salad of spinach, tomato, cucumber and spanish onion. I think it would go really well with wedges also.

Ingredients:
Mycoprotein, cheese, wheat flour,
water, rehydrated egg white, vegetable oil, spinach, wheat starch, wheat
gluten, milk solids, flavour, rice flour, corn starch, concentrated
lemon juice, salt, yeast, gelling agent and black pepper. So there is clearly a lot of dairy in this product containing milk, cheese
and egg so if you're trying to cut down on the dairy then I definitely
don't recommend this. Calories: 280

It's $6 for pack that contains 2 schnitzels so it's similarly priced to meat.
