MEAT SUBSTITUTE REVIEW: QUORN SAUSAGES

So I am back with another meat substitute review, this time I will be reviewing Quorn Meat Free and Soy Free Sausages. I wasn't sure what a meat free sausage would taste like but I was excited to find out.

Taste:
These are actually so delicious, they taste almost like a pork sausage with lots of herbs and spices. The consistency is very much like a usual meat sausage but it cooks slightly differently because it doesn't sizzle or produce oil like a usual sausage would.

Serving:
I served mine with the suggested meal which was mashed potato, gravy and vegetables, it tasted absolutely amazing so I definitely recommend that combination.

Nutritional Value:
Serving Size: 2 Sausages
Calories: 136
Protein: 12g
Fat: 3.7g (only 0.5g saturated)
Carbs: 20 (1.6g sugar)
Fibre: 4g
Sodium: 400mg
* Quite low in calories and fat and high in protein which is good. Just take into account that you will need to use oil when cooking these resulting in a higher amount of fat.

Price:
It's $8 for pack that contains 6 sausages so it's similarly priced to meat but maybe a little bit more expensive.

Overall I think these are the perfect replacement for sausages, I have a couple of different types of these sausages that I am currently trying out so it will be interesting to see how they compare to each other and which ones are my favourites. After being sort of scared to try out a "fake" sausage I am so glad I did because they taste delicious.

So that was another installment of my "meat substitute review" series. If you would like to see more then click HERE for the full collection. The next one will definitely be coming up soon because I have been trying out Quorn and other vegetarian products like crazy!
