ALL ABOUT: COCONUT WATER

I really wanted to talk all about my latest addiction, coconut water! I find it to be the most delicious drink treat when I feel like something a bit more than water as it's really sweet and yummy but also quite good for you. So if you have no idea what I'm talking about, coconut water is the liquid found inside a young coconut and is of course completely natural. Most coconut water companies don't add anything into the water during the packaging process so it's left in it's natural state with no artificial additives or sweeteners. Most flavoured kinds use natural fruit extracts.

Benefits:
* Low-fat, 99% fat free
* Healthy alternative to sugar-and kilojoules-packed soft drinks and juices
* Cholesterol free
* Less than 100 kilojoules per 100ml
* Includes a heap of vitamins and minerals such as zinc, selenium, iodine, sulfur, manganese, boron, molybdenum, ascorbic acid and B-group vitamins.
* Good for digestive health.

Better than a sports drink

Known as "nature's Gatorade", coconut water is naturally an isotonic drink which provides many of the same benefits as formulated sports drinks that include electrolytes, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium and potassium but in their natural form.

Slows down ageing
Coconut water allegedly promotes smoother and more youthful looking skin due to it's natural source of cytokinins (a group of plant growth hormones that help regulate cell growth). Also rich in potassium, antioxidants and lauric acid, it is said to balance pH levels, strengthen and hydrate connective tissues. You can even dab it onto skin and it can reduce acne, cellulite, eczema, stretch marks, wrinkles, age sports and sagging skin.

Regulates blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol
Coconut water can improve blood circulation, lower elevated blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Reduces plaque formation, moderates sugar absorption and improves insulin sensitivity.

So that's about all that I wanted to cover in this "All About: Coconut Water" article but let me know if you have any more questions and I would be happy to address them.
